Legends’ Spanish guitarist,
Peter Williamson, has been working in the Canberra region for over
twenty five years, opening the first dedicated guitar teaching
studios in Canberra in 1977. A teacher, composer and performer, he
is British born and has spent many years perfecting his restaurant
flamenco style known as ‘Spanish Background’.
Studying and
teaching in Brisbane he worked with the Spanish dancer Rosita doing
the night club circuit as part of the duo ‘Pedro y Rosita’ and also
worked in two Spanish Flamenco touring groups. Peter then moved to
Melbourne and toured Australia and New Zealand for three years with
the JC Williamson production of Man of La Mancha. He made several
television appearances during this time.
Having played in
England, Europe and Australia, Peter is now working as an
instrumental teacher for both Canberra Grammar School and Marist
College teaching Classical and Flamenco guitar technique. Legends’
Spanish Restaurant enjoys the mix of Traditional Flamenco, Spanish
Background and classical pieces that Peter (Pedrito) performs on
Fridays & Saturday nights after 7:30pm.
